ANDY WARHOL ART AUTHENTICATION

1. First, the owner of the work of art is required to send a fax or a letter that contains the following information: owner's name, address, phone number and fax number; title, medium and dimensions of the work of art that is to be submitted for authentication and its provenance (please note that "private collection" is unacceptable).

Contact:
Claudia Defendi, The Andy Warhol Art Authentication Board, Inc.
525 West 20th Street, 7th Floor
New York, NY 10011
T: (212) 727-1735 / F: (212) 242-2836

2. Then, a 'Letter of Consent' (provided by the Andy Warhol Art Authentication Board, Inc.) must be signed by the owner of the work of art and sent to the Andy Warhol Art Authentication Board, Inc., before the work of art is submitted.
The works of art submitted to the Andy Warhol Art Authentication Board, Inc. will be reviewed three times a year on an appointed day.

3. In addition, owners of artwork must make arrangements with their insurance provider so that the policy covers all transit of the piece and on-site insurance while at the Warhol Foundation. It is estimated that artwork will be at the Warhol Foundation for approximately 6-7 weeks, but definite dates will be determined by either Claudia Defendi or Bibi Khan at the Andy Warhol Art Authentication Board.
The owners of the work(s) of art will be notified approximately three weeks (no sooner than April 21, 2008) after the authentication day. The owners must make arrangements to have their work(s) picked up within one week after notification.

* * Please note that Claudia Defendi or Bibi Khan must be contacted at (212) 727-1735 in order to make delivery arrangements. Also, works of art must be removed from the frame and must be unhinged from the backboard before being submitted to the Andy Warhol Art Authentication Board, Inc. for review.

If you have any questions regarding the shipping process, or would like a list of shipping companies that are well-equipped for this kind of transport, please contact Art Cellar Exchange.

Once an artwork has been authenticated, we will be happy to discuss the fair market value of your piece and start the selling process. Thank you, in advance, for taking the necessary precautions to protect yourself as a seller and your potential buyer, and for helping to keep the Andy Warhol market veritable.
