THEFT/BURGLARY

Install alarms to protect your artwork and your home. Along with an alarm system for your home, security lighting, CCTV, and sensors and tethers for specific artworks can be effective deterrents.

Keep all machinery and ladders in a secure shed or garage. It will help prevent them from being used to gain entry to the house.

List all the items that you think have been stolen. Your insurance provider will notify the Art Loss Register on your behalf. If you have photographic records of the stolen items, they will be helpful in recovering your artwork.

- Call the police immediately.
- Once the police have visited it is important to make the premises secure as thieves often return.
- Notify your insurance provider.
- Alarms should be reconnected as soon as possible.
